This site serves as a free resource for the purpose of locating qualified vocal and instrumental music instructors. All arrangements, financial and otherwise, are between the hiring person(s) and private instructor. It is the obligation of the hiring person(s) to become fully and adequately informed of an instructor's background, qualifications, and contractual requirements before engaging in a contract for service. By entering and using this site, you agree that the webmaster, the Rhode Island Music Educators Association (RIMEA), its members, and its affiliates shall have NO liability for private contracts and related dealings between the hiring person(s) and instructors.

Dear Colleagues and Students:

In order to promote music education by making accessible to students a comprehensive directory of qualified private music instructors, I created this site over ten years ago. I have never charged any instructor for posting (unlike other directory sites which are commercial and charge expensive fees), and have absorbed the costs of maintaining the site each year.

Late last summer, I began designing a new look for the site, and, for the first time in its history, sought donations from instructors. The reality is that the costs I am incurring are no longer easily absorbable, so I thought that some nominal donations from the music educators who have enjoyed posting here for free all these years would help me keep it running. After all, there are at least one hundred instructors listed. To date, only two donations have been received.

Alas, this site is to become another casualty of these economic times. I regret that it will now be suspended until a method of making it self-sustaining can be devised.
